NEW DELHI/HIMACHAL:

After growing discontented with their respective party’s policies, a vast number of Congress and BJP leaders in Himachal Pradesh have defected to the Aam Aadmi Party. Leaders from both opposition parties have joined AAP in protest of the Congress and BJP’s anti-people policies. In this regard, Himachal Pradesh Congress State General Secretary and State Spokesperson Shri Arun Sharma and INTUC General Secretary Shri Sanjay Sharma left the party on Thursday and joined the Aam Aadmi Party, in the presence of the party’s election in-charge Satyendar Jain and co-in-charge Durgesh Pathak.

Congress Party’s move to appoint four presidents has sparked factionalism within the organisation: Arun Sharma

On the momentous occasion of his joining the Aam Aadmi Party, Shri Arun Sharma said, “The way the Congress has recently appointed four working presidents, including a state president, has led to the formation of internal strife in the party. Due to increasing factionalism in the party, the Congress itself suffers. Hence, many workers like us who were working for the Congress party with sincerity and dedication are now joining the Aam Aadmi Party. The BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin, where sycophants and clever, cunning people are respected, while diligent and honest workers receive no acknowledgment or even an ounce of respect. Given this situation of the Congress and the BJP, there was no third credible option in the state earlier. But fortunately, the Aam Aadmi Party has now emerged as a strong alternative to both of these parties.

He further said, “People who are honest, sincere, and hardworking, and want to make a difference are providing world-class facilities to the people of Delhi in a variety of sectors. I have joined the party now that it has officially begun its political journey in the state of Himachal Pradesh, and many others will follow suit in the coming days. The Aam Aadmi Party will definitely form the government in Himachal this time around.”

BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin; Aam Aadmi Party has shaken the foundations of these two giants with its arrival: Satyendar Jain

While inducting the new members into the party, AAP state election in-charge and Delhi Cabinet Minister Shri Satyendar Jain said, “The Congress and BJP were playing binary politics in Himachal Pradesh for the last 40 years. This is why neither of the two parties has managed to retain power in the state for more than a single term in a row. Both Congress and BJP are two sides of the same coin and both are in knots with each other, which is why the people of Himachal Pradesh are now looking toward Shri Arvind Kejriwal as an alternative to this sort of “catch-catch” alternating politics of the BJP and Congress and want the AAP to form a government in the state. The people of Delhi have time and again shown their trust and satisfaction with the Kejriwal model of governance by voting the party to power for three consecutive terms, and now, the people of Himachal are expressing their love and appreciation for the Aam Aadmi Party’s politics of change and progress.”

He concluded, “The politics of the state of Himachal Pradesh is changing rapidly. People are now joining the Aam Aadmi Party in large numbers after being dismayed by the policies of the Congress and BJP. AAP National Convenor Shri Arvind Kejriwal has already said that the people in these two parties who are well-intentioned, honest, and have a spot-free image are more than welcome to join hands with the AAP and become a part of our revolutionary movement.”
